Meet Pastor Brian Ebert
Raised on a farm in northwestern Missouri, Pastor Brian Ebert received his BS in Agriculture Business at Northwest Missouri State University. Afterward, he lived in Kansas City and worked a few jobs in sales. While selling ads for KCMO Radio, he won a drawing to attend a rock concert at Arrowhead Stadium. At the concert he found a tract about receiving Christ on the ground and asked his date to explain it to him. That night he accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior, and he was baptized and became an active member of Blue Ridge Baptist Temple.
Work took him to California for a year before he moved back to Kansas City. He soon met the love of his life, Caterina, and got married in October 1987.
A friend from KCMO Radio was a member of the Kansas City Baptist Temple (now Graceway Church). Soon, Brian was invited to attend the church's Shepherd School of Ministry, a four-year Bible training program. There he learned to preach and teach God's word and developed a passion to someday take what he learned back to the farm community of his roots.
He became involved with several ministries, such as preaching at rest homes, psychiatric units, businessmen's prayer groups and wherever he could preach. His pastor then invited him to preach in empty pulpits in a four-state area called the Circuit Riders Ministry. This experience gave him a great opportunity to practice and see if being a pastor was his true calling.
By chance, Brian was assigned to Bryant, Illinois and never traveled anywhere else on the circuit for two years. He was offered a full-time position at Bryant Christian Church, and, along with his wife and one-year-old son, moved to Lewistown, Illinois in 1994.
He and Caterina have been married for over 25 years and have two sons, Seth and Jesse, one grandson, Noah. and one granddaughter, Lianna.
